Subodh Sarwajanik Vachanlaya, established on 15 June 1971, is a community-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting education, awareness, and social responsibility. For over five decades, the organisation has worked at the grassroots level to make knowledge accessible and meaningful for all sections of society. The organisation operates a public library with a seating capacity of 40–50 readers and a collection of more than 20,000 books covering literature, competitive examinations, law, social sciences, and general knowledge. The library remains open to all without discrimination, providing a safe and inclusive space for study and learning.Beyond library services, Subodh actively conducts education and career awareness programmes across schools and colleges in both urban and rural areas. The organisation also aspires to expand its impact by establishing libraries in other cities and villages, opening free hostels for economically weaker students, and setting up education centres in slum communities. This journey is only the beginning. With a positive vision and collective effort, Subodh Sarwajanik Vachanlaya seeks to grow further by working together with communities, institutions, and partners to create lasting social impact.

What we do

Vision

Our vision is to build a knowledgeable, ethical, and progressive society where every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. We aspire to create a strong network of libraries, education centers, and social initiatives that inspire generations, transform lives, and contribute to nation-building.

Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals through free and open access to knowledge, education, and value-based learning. We are committed to nurturing informed, responsible, and self-reliant citizens by expanding libraries, educational programs, and support systems, especially for underprivileged and rural communities. Through collective efforts, we strive to remove barriers to education and create equal opportunities for all.
